The 2004 Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Dollar was produced to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this coin was authorized to assist the National Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Council and the National Park Service for activities associated with commemorating the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
